About the Opportunity

TalentBase is hiring on behalf of a prime aerospace and defense contractor to support the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 and EA-18G Fleet Support Teams (FST) at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, CA. This role delivers critical engineering solutions to sustain, modernize, and enhance mission performance for two of the Navy’s most advanced tactical aircraft.

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll serve as a technical authority across avionics, power, data, and electrical systems—ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and readiness for deployed squadrons and depot-level support teams.


What You’ll Do

  • Apply advanced engineering principles to design, evaluate, test, and troubleshoot aircraft avionics, electrical, and communications systems
  • Draft and develop Technical Directives (TD), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), RAMECs, AFBs, AYBs, AYC/AFC documentation, and related illustrations and installation instructions
  • Generate complete and accurate work packages and documentation to support system modifications across all F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft (T/M/S)
  • Support validation, verification, and installation activities for upgrade initiatives and sustainment programs
  • Provide engineering oversight during depot-level maintenance, field testing, and operational troubleshooting
  • Document findings, develop technical recommendations, and collaborate with military and civilian personnel to implement engineering improvements


What You Bring (Required):

  • 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or complex systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
  • Proficiency in interpreting and developing technical manuals, engineering drawings, and change documentation
  • Understanding of DoD sustainment processes and aircraft modification programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across functional teams and stakeholders


Location & Work Environment

  • Work is conducted onsite at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW)
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods in office or hangar settings
  • Minimal travel may be required within the region


Base Pay Range:$55.00 – $65.00/hour
