Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Who can participate in Veterans CareerBridge?

    Student veterans in their final year of an associate’s, bachelor’s, or graduate program—or those who have completed a degree or accredited certificate in an in-demand field. Veterans must have an honorable or general discharge and be willing to commit to the entire 3-phase program.

  • What are the three phases of the program?

    Phase 1: Career Readiness Training (2 weeks of evening sessions, 20 hours total)/

    Phase 2: Employer Matching & Interviews (2 weeks, structured interviews with partner employers).


    Phase 3: Paid Internship (8–12 weeks, full-time, minimum $23/hour).

  • What types of employers are involved?

    Employers from aerospace & defense, advanced manufacturing, logistics, energy, healthcare, and other high-demand industries. All employers sign an MOU and commit to structured internships with mentorship and intent-to-hire pathways.

  • What does it cost?

    The program is free for veterans. Internship wages are paid directly by employers. Grants and employer contributions sustain training, coaching, and wraparound support.

  • What is the employer’s commitment?

    Provide a minimum 8-week paid internship ($23/hr+).

  • Is there a hiring guarantee?

    No. Employers are encouraged but not obligated to extend full-time offers. However, the program is designed for high conversion—targeting 75–85% full-time hires.

  • What if a participant or employer is not a fit?

    There’s no penalty. Veterans not matched in Phase 2 can be re-engaged for a future cohort. Employers are never obligated to hire a candidate if it isn’t the right fit.

  • How many cohorts run each year?

    Up to 6 cohorts annually (every other month). The first cohort launches January 5, 2026, with 5 scheduled in the pilot year.

  • What support is provided during the internship?

    Participants receive bi-weekly check-ins, access to coaches/mentors, weekly reflections, and a midpoint evaluation to ensure success.

  • What about transportation, lodging, or benefits?

    Veterans are expected to have reliable transportation. Limited stipends or community lodging options may be available for out-of-area participants.


    Veterans remain responsible for personal benefits; employers cover internship wages only.
